Every day, we witness remarkable transformations within our member organizations. Here are the stories of how capacity building has empowered refugee-led organizations to achieve financial independence and train others.
Heaven Community Pathway operated without a formal bank account. All funds were managed informally, limiting their ability to receive grants and demonstrate financial transparency to donors.
Through Bomoko's training, Heaven Community Pathway successfully opened a formal bank account, established financial management systems, and received their first small grant. They have now trained 2 other emerging RLOs in financial management.
Their Mission: To establish a comprehensive resource center that provides high-quality lifelong learning and sustainable livelihood opportunities for refugees and low-income host communities in Uganda.

Visit Website →El-Hai Ministries lacked structured financial systems and had no dedicated bank account for the organization. This prevented them from applying for funding and building credibility with partners.
El-Hai Ministries now has a formal bank account, trained staff in basic financial management, and successfully submitted their first funding proposal.
Their Mission: To respond to refugees and hosts in need by best learning opportunities and livelihood activities through new transformations , methods and technologies , community-centered programs that promote honor , autonomy and long-term development.

Visit Website →Mwinja Foundation struggled with financial record-keeping and had no separate organizational bank account. This made it impossible to track funds properly or report to potential donors.
Mwinja Foundation now operates with a proper bank account, has trained staff in accounting software, and is preparing their first grant application.
Their Mission: Promote healing and well-being by supporting vulnerable individuals through safe spaces, guidance to essential services, and community engagement, fostering resilience, growth, and a more peaceful, compassionate society.

Visit Website →Tuinuwane Group operated informally without a bank account or structured financial processes. This limited their ability to access funding and scale their advocacy work.
Tuinuwane Group has opened a bank account, trained their team in financial management, and is now recognized as a credible organization by local partners.
Their Mission: We envision a world where all refugees and low-income individuals have equitable access to education, economic opportunities, and healthcare, enabling them to thrive in their communities.

Visit Website →Achile Devine Foundation had no formal bank account and relied on personal accounts for all transactions. This created transparency issues and prevented institutional funding.
Achile Devine Foundation now has a dedicated organizational bank account, trained financial staff, and is developing their first funding proposal.
Their Mission: To empower refugees, asylum seekers, survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, and vulnerable host communities through protection, education, skills development, psychosocial support, and sustainable livelihood programs.

All five founding member organizations now have formal bank accounts, enabling them to receive grants and operate transparently.
Our member organizations have shared their knowledge and trained over 13 other refugee-led organizations and community groups.
Several member organizations have received their first small grants, demonstrating growing credibility with donors.
Increased credibility has led to new partnerships with local and international organizations.
