From Lived Experience to Leading Change — Unity in Action.
Established 2026 | Uganda | Refugee-Led Coalition
A pioneering, Refugee-led coalition transforming humanitarian aid in Uganda
Bomoko Refugee Support Network (BRSN) is a pioneering, Refugee-led coalition founded in 2026 by association of RLO leaving in Kampala, Uganda. Established as a transformative force in Uganda's humanitarian landscape, the network represents a unified front of Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs) dedicated to shifting the paradigm of aid from dependency to self-reliance.
The name "Bomoko" — signifying Unity — embodies the network's core philosophy: that collective strength is the most effective tool for overcoming the systemic barriers facing displaced communities.
The "Missing Link" in Humanitarian Aid
Limited access to direct, sustainable funding from global and national donors. Refugee-Led Organizations are often overlooked despite being first responders.
Lack of technical and administrative systems required to meet rigorous international compliance standards and donor requirements.
Small, isolated organizations working in silos, which dilutes collective bargaining power and reduces overall impact on communities.
A Unified, Self-Reliant Ecosystem
Bomoko was established to revolutionize this landscape by creating a centralized, professionalized network that bridges this gap. Consolidating the strengths of founding members, the network serves as a strategic intermediary and has unified many Refugee-Led Organizations today.
We secure large-scale funding and equitably disburse it to empower grassroots initiatives.
We leverage the "Power of Many" to mentor emerging RLOs, sharing technical expertise and governance best practices.
We ensure that those who have experienced displacement are the primary architects of the solutions designed to address it.
To be the leading Network for a self-reliant refugee community in Uganda, where every refugee-led organization has the resources, skills, and authority to drive sustainable change and dignify lives for all displaced persons.
To empower refugee-led organizations through collective resource mobilization, capacity sharing, and advocacy, ensuring that lived experience leads sustainable change.
